Our in house laboratory allows our highly trained staff to run blood tests on the spot with results available within minutes. Before now we (along with all of the other vet clinics in this area) were waiting for hours or days for results to be faxed back from external laboratories in Grafton or Brisbane. This saving of time means no guessing at the treatment whilst waiting for results and can even mean the difference between life and death for critical cases. Having these facilities in house also means that we can provide valuable information about your pet's anaesthetic safety. If you want to do what is best for your pet before an anaesthetic a pre-anaesthetic blood test on the morning of the surgery allows us to check your pet's liver and kidney function, vital to be working optimally for anaesthetic safety. We are also offering blood tests for monitoring senior pets as part of a senior pet wellness program, early detection of problems gives us the best chance of managing any senior pet related condition such as diabetes.
